History

Oakwood Baptist Church members perceived a need for a Christian preschool
program, and Oakwood Baptist Christian Academy began kindergarten classesimg_2434 2
in the fall of 1992.  In 1998, the Academy Trustees and church members voted to begin an elementary program, and a first grade class began in August 1999.  The Academy name was changed in 1998 and the school became Oakwood Christian Academy.  Our school size increased from two classes in 1992 to twenty-two classes in 2007.  Academy classes now include preschool and kindergarten, 1st-6th grade elementary, and 7th-12th grade jr./sr. high school.

Oakwood Christian Academy is fully accredited through the American Association of Christian Schools (AACS) and the Georgia Association Of Christian Schools (GACS).  GACS schools are members of the Georgia Private School
Accrediting Council (GAPSAC) which is recognized by the Georgia Department of Education and the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.
