Who We Are

OCA subscribes to the philosophy that Christian parents should fully commit to faith and knowledge in relationship with Christ (Psalm 78:1-7). Christian education should involve development of academic understanding, social skills, and relationship with God. Thus, education is a learning process whereby a child develops and grows academically, socially, and spiritually.

Our History

Oakwood Baptist Church members perceived a need for a Christian preschool program, and Oakwood Baptist Christian Academy began with two kindergarten classes in the fall of 1992.  In 1998, the Academy Trustees and church members voted to begin an elementary program, and a first grade class began in August 1999.  The Academy name was changed in 1998 and the school became Oakwood Christian Academy.  OCA has increased from two classes in 1992 to twenty-three classes with 350+ students.  Academy classes now include preschool, kindergarten-6th grade elementary, and 7th-12th grade jr./sr. high school.

Oakwood Christian Academy is fully accredited through Cognia, North American Christian School Accrediting Agency (NACSAA), National Council of Private School Accreditation (NCPSA), the American Association of Christian Schools (AACS) and the Georgia Association Of Christian Schools (GACS) which is a charter member of Georgia Private School Accrediting Council (GAPSAC).
